Rev up your wall space with the 2018 NYC Taxi Drivers calendar. Rough Cut (no reporter narration)
(ROUGH CUT - NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: The New York City taxi drivers calendar shows off a steamy side of taxi drivers rarely seen from the back seat of a yellow cab. The 2018 NYC Taxi Drivers calendar offers 12 months of real-life city drivers, in various states of undress, posing next to their taxis. One of the drivers is licking a large, rainbow lollipop while another is posing covered in daisies in the car's luggage area. These are not your average pin-up models, but the drivers playfully let it all hang out. The calendar, in its fifth year, is the idea of husband and wife team Philip and Shannon Kirkman. Philip Kirkman said he wanted to highlight the taxi drivers in a humorous way. "They are a very iconic part of the city and such an intrinsic part of the city and they are often unseen." "Obviously, we hope that the calendar is funny. A lot of the response is humor and people having fun with it," he added. "And then obviously, the second part of that is the fact that it does benefit a charity that benefits immigrants and other working individuals and families." The calendar benefits a nonprofit organization called University Settlement, and since the couple started to market the calendars a few years ago, sales of the $15 (USD) item have raised more than $60,000 for the charity.
