The Nottingham player was 39 shots below par, beating Slovakia's Gubani Juraj who went round in 178 kicks, 35 under. Footgolf is played just like ordinary golf but over 54 holes a round - and the holes are a little larger to allow a football to drop into the cup. The first ever European Grand Final, held at the Castro Marim golf course, attracted 111 players from 16 countries, according to organisers. Parkinson received a 2000 euro prize (about 2330 US dollars) and a handmade ceramic trophy. The remaining 5000 euros (about 5800 US dollars) in prize money was shared amongst the other players. Wesley van den Broek of Netherlands was third. The European Tour comprises 10 tournaments and attracts 650 players from 29 countries according to the Tour's organisers.
