The accident happened on Pine Flat Lake in Fresno County, California. The parents of Uber CEO Travis Kalanick were in a boat when it struck a rock and sank. Kalanick's mother Bonnie was killed. His father Don was seriously injured and flown to a nearby hospital. An Uber spokesperson says the incident is an "unspeakable tragedy." The couple's neighbors mourning her untimely death. Kalanick recently posted a photo with his parents on Twitter when they went to the Kentucky Derby. The tragedy comes as Uber is dealing with a number of setbacks lately, including accusations of sexual harassment from a former female employee.
