Only days ahead of U.S. President Donald Trump's visit, fighter jet squadrons from the Israeli and U.S Air Forces held a joint exercise deep in the Israeli desert, simulating various combat scenarios. The "Juniper Falcon" is an annual exercise aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries, the Israeli army said. The Israeli and American commanders involved in the exercise said it included mutual learning that contributed to the air crews' skills in the face of various threats.
