Iran condemning the U.S for striking a Syrian airbase. The country's President, Hassan Rouhani, MONDAY warning that the move risks escalating conflict in the region. (SOUNDBITE) (Farsi) IRANIAN PRESIDENT, HASSAN ROUHANI, SAYING: "The basis of attacking Syria was completely wrong and inappropriate and it abets terrorism." The remarks from Rouhani aren't surprising given Iran's steadfast support for the Syrian regime. But the President did say their main regional ally needs to implement reforms: He's also calling for an impartial investigation of the suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria that killed at least 70 people. Washington has pointed the finger at the Syrian government for the deadly attack last week. Their decision to strike Friday also drew Russian criticism, another firm ally of the Syrian President.
