ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus says the mainstream media is getting "everything" wrong about him and Chief Strategist Steve Bannon. Speaking at the four-day Conservative Political Action Conference on Thursday (February 23), Bannon blasted the mainstream media and called them "corporatist, globalist media that are adamantly opposed, adamantly opposed to an economic, nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has." "The mainstream media better understand something. All of those (Trump's) promises are going to be implemented," Bannon said. Conservatives are celebrating President Donald Trump's role in delivering them a victory in November's election, but beneath the surface at an annual convention this week lurk tensions central to how Republicans will govern. Known as CPAC, the event is being held in suburban Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., as Republicans who control the White House and Congress argue among themselves over issues such as trade, taxes and how to dismantle and replace President Barack Obama's landmark healthcare law.
