John Hurt has died aged 77 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, his agent said Saturday. The veteran British actor starred in more than 200 films and television series over a carreer spanning six decades. He's best known for playing one of the most memorable on-screen deaths in movie history, The infamous chest-buster scene in 1979 sci-fi thriller 'Alien', And his roles in 'The Elephant Man' and 'Midnight Express' which earned him Academy Award nominations. The actor was working up until his death, recently playing a priest in Oscar-nominated film 'Jackie', the biopic of President John F Kennedy's wife.
