Speaking in the Swiss parliament building on Sunday (January 15) upon his arrival, Xi said his visit to the WEF would aim to give a "positive signal" to the world community. The talks between the Chinese and the Swiss delegations on the second day of Xi's visit, the first of a Chinese head of state in the past 18 years, were expected to tackle world trade, the global financial system, the environment and climate protection, and the situation in and around Syria.
