Thailand's 88-year-old king is said to be in an unstable condition in hospital after undergoing dialysis. Paul Chapman reports.

A statement from the royal palace said he was put on a ventilator because of occasional drops in blood pressure. Sunday's statement said the monarch's condition had yet to stabilise. He's been staying at the hospital where he's now being treated for much of this year after a series of health problems. He was last seen in public in January. Bhumibol Adulyadej is the world's longest-serving monarch and deeply revered in Thailand. He's viewed as a symbol of continuity in a country that's seen rapid development and huge political upheaval during his 70 years on the throne.
