Japanese political hamburgers offers customers a chance to weigh in on the U.S. presidential election. Julie Noce reports.
In Tokyo, U.S. presidential candidates that you can sink your teeth into. The J.S. Burger Cafe is offering Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton inspired burgers, and is inviting patrons to vote on which one they like best. The burgers are based on the candidates hometowns. The Trump burger, for example, is meant to resemble a New York deli sandwich, the Reuben. Melted cheese, Russian dressing, and pastrami. How was it? The pastrami and meat stacked together give it a really strong taste, one person said. Just like, what's his name? Mr. Trump. Clinton's burger- who was born near Chicago- was based on the famous Chicago-style hot-dog. Poppyseed bun, celery salt, and a hot dog right there on the burger itself. But customers weren't buying it. I'm sorry, I can't really tell how this burger expresses Hillary just by taste. A restaurant spokesperson said if the Trump burger wins, one winner will be chosen by lotto and awarded free burgers for 365 days. If Clinton's burger wins, 365 winners will be chosen and each awarded one burger.
