Award-winning actor and film director Clint Eastwood tells Esquire magazine that he ''would have to go for Trump'' in the upcoming presidential election. Jillian Kitchener reports.
The last time Clint Eastwood got involved in politics, he was seen by millions talking to a chair, on behalf of 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney. Now, the 86-year-old actor says he would be likely to support Donald Trump over Hillary Clinton. In an interview with Esquire magazine, Eastwood says he would "have to go for Trump" over someone who would follow in President Obama's footsteps. Eastwood said, quote, "Secretly everybody's getting tired of political correctness, kissing up. Everybody's walking on eggshells. Even before his appearance at the RNC in 2012, Eastwood dabbled in politics. He served as mayor of his hometown in Carmel, California. And while he hasn't gone so far as to endorse Donald Trump, he says the billionaire candidate is, quote - "on to something"
