Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan visits Istanbul's Ataturk airport to pay his respects to the victims of the triple suicide bombings. Diane Hodges reports.
President Tayyip Erdogan prays at a makeshift memorial to those who died at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport just four days earlier. Displayed are some of the 44 people who were killed in the attacks, which began when three bombers opened fire outside the airport's international arrivals hall. Two of the bombers managed to enter the terminal where they detonated their explosives. Airport officials showed the Turkish leader where one of the explosions occurred. It's the deadliest in a series of suicide bombings to strike Turkey this year. Police have named two Russian nationals as suspects, according to Turkish media, which says the attack is thought to have been masterminded by a Chechen. Turkish police have detained eleven foreigners they suspect of being linked to the bombers.
