U.S. President Barack Obama's eldest daughter Malia is planning to attend Harvard University in the fall of 2017 after first taking a gap year. Vanessa Johnston reports.
She's been spotted visiting numerous universities around the country. Now Malia Obama, the eldest daughter of U.S. President Barack Obama, has made her pick: Harvard University. The White House says the 17-year-old plans to attend in the fall of 2017. But first, she'll take a gap year. It isn't clear how she'll spend it -- or what she'll eventually study, though she's shown an interest in film and television -- with two internships in the industry under her belt. Malia's parents are no strangers to the Harvard campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Both the president and first lady Michelle Obama attended Harvard Law School.
