University students in Santiago take to the streets over latest disagreement with the government over education reform. Gavino Garay reports.
It's the most recent flare-up of protests over education reforms. Chilean students in the capital, Santiago, are demanding that the government make higher education free in the country. While Chilean President Michelle Bachelet has made a push to make university education free, and bring public schools under government control, the protesters say the education reforms she campaigned on don't go far enough. They want Chile to tap into its natural resources and tax systems to fund students, many of whom are bogged down with student loans.
