Malcom D. Lee's 'Barbershop: The Next Cut' has a political message alongside the comedy. Rough cut (no reporter narration)
The 'Barbershop' franchise is back with 'The Next Cut' - set in the South Side of Chicago. But while the last two films were focussed almost entirely on comedy, gun crime has escalated in Chicago, and the makers of the film chose to send a social and political message with this movie. The film tackles the issue of gangs, gun crime and bringing people together. The director and cast said they hope 'The Next Cut' will encourage people to make a difference in their communities.
