The creators of Pet on Wheels, a hard case pet carrier for scooters, motorcycles, bikes and cars, hope to transform the lives of motorists and their pets. Edward Baran reports.
It may be a dog's life -- but this pooch is getting a prime view of Milan's busy highways. It's thanks to an Italian invention that allows motorists to bring their four-legged friends on the road with them. 'Pet on Wheels' is primarily designed for scooters but can also be used on motobikes and cars. I got the idea because I've always had small-sized pets and I drive a scooter." The carrier eliminates distraction for drivers and, its makers say, allows both pet and owner to travel safely and free of stress Many countries restrict the carriage of pets on bikes -- but the final product is designed to comply with international highway codes. So, we are already in business and there is interest." Production is due to begin in April and will retail at around 200 euros.
