U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry says Syrian government trying ''to disrupt'' Syria peace talks by ruling out discussion of fate of Syrian presidency. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry on Sunday (March 13) said the Syrian government was trying "to disrupt" the Syria peace talks process with its comments from the day before that ruled out any discussion of the fate of the Syrian presidency during the negotiations. Kerry also warned the Syrian government and its backers not to test the boundaries of a two-week-long cessation of hostilities that has sharply reduced the levels on violence in the conflict. Talks are set to resume on Monday in Geneva but diplomats huge challenges ahead as the lead opposition negotiator has said a political transition could not start unless Syrian President Bashar al-Assad was no longer president.
