Former U.S. Senator and Republican TV commentator Scott Brown endorses Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination, as the candidates prepare for the New Hampshire primary. Rough Cut (no reporter narration)
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Former U.S. Senator Scott Brown on Tuesday (February 2) endorsed Donald Trump for the Republican nomination for president. The endorsement comes during the final week of the campaign for the New Hampshire primary. Brown established residency in New Hampshire and won the Republican nomination to challenge incumbent Senator Jeanne Shaheen in 2014, but lost in the general election. On Tuesday, Brown, who currently serves as a Republican political commentator on television, said he believed Trump was the best choice to win back the White House for the Republicans. Brown made the announcement at a news conference in Milford, New Hampshire, just one day after Trump finished second in the Iowa caucuses. Trump said he was happy with his performance in Iowa, noting that he hadn't spent much time or money on the state. If he had, he said he might have won.
