Fierce clashes erupt between Iran-backed Houthis and Saudi-backed troops in Yemen's third largest city, Taiz. Nathan Frandino reports.
Signs of fierce fighting covered Taiz on Sunday where clashes broke out between pro-government fighters and Houthi rebels. These men are fighting for President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. This man says he hopes they will push the Houthis back to their stronghold in Saada. The Iran-backed Houthis forced out Hadi earlier this year, prompting the Saudis to step in. Air strikes and street fighting have since devastated the city, with residents feeling the pain. The first shot was far from me and the fighters directed me to keep walking and suddenly I was shot in the leg." Six months of civil war have killed more than 5,400 people in Yemen, and shows no signs of peace.
