Riot police clash with demonstrators in the Turkish capital Ankara during a march to the presidential palace. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Riot police used water cannon and tear gas to disperse around 300 student protesters on Friday (October 9) who were trying to march to President Tayyip Erdogan's palace in the Turkish capital of Ankara. They were marching for Aziz Guler, a 27-year-old Kurdish fighter who was killed in Kobani early in September while fighting against Islamic State and whose family has been struggling to bring his body back to Turkey for burial. Riot police fired water cannon and tear gas as protesters set off fireworks and hurled stones at police blocking the road at the entrance of Ankara's Middle East Technical University. Turkish authorities will not allow the family to bring the body back citing security reasons.
