ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) Pope Francis arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland Tuesday afternoon (September 22) on his first visit to the United States. The pontiff was greeted at the airport by President Barack Obama, a host of church leaders, a huge crowd of well-wishers, and some protesters. Pope Francis hopes the United States will lift its long trade embargo on Cuba as a result of negotiations between the two countries, but does not plan to raise it in his address to Congress this week, the pontiff told reporters on Tuesday. Francis will visit Washington, D.C., New York City and Philadelphia during his stay.
