Democrat Hillary Clinton hit back at Jeb Bush saying the Republican candidate was ''doubling down on defending'' brother George Bush's actions in Iraq. Deborah Gembara reports.
At the Iowa State Fair --- the focus was on Iraq --- specifically Jeb Bush's recent criticism of Hillary Clinton. (FADE) (SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE JEB BUSH SAYING: "ISIS grew while the United States disengaged from the Middle East and ignored the threat. And where was Secretary of State Clinton in all of this?" Clinton on Saturday hit back. (SOUNDBITE) (English) DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE HILLARY CLINTON SAYING: "I find it somewhat curious that Jeb Bush is doubling down on - defending - his brother's actions in Iraq. But if he's going to do that, he should present the entire picture. And the entire picture, as you know, includes the agreement George W. Bush made with the Maliki government in Iraq that set the end of 2011 as the date to withdraw American troops." Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was also stumping at the Iowa State Fair and weighed in on both Bush and Clinton. (SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "He said the United States has to prove to Iraq that we have skin in the game. We have spent two trillion dollars, thousands of lives lost, wounded warriors who I love all over the place. I think it may be one of the dumbest statements I've ever heard." "Hillary Clinton was the single worst Secretary of State in the history of this country." But the real estate mogul didn't stop there. (SOUNDBITE) (English) REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DONALD TRUMP SAYING: "First of all Iraqi officials are a bunch of crooks if there even is an Iraq which I don't think there is. Iran is taking over Iraq." The latest polls show Trump with a comfortable lead over his fellow Republicans, including Bush who is sitting in second place.
