Panic on the streets of Aden, after Houthi militia fired shells near the city. At least 18 people are dead. (SOUNDBITE) (Arabic) ADEN RESIDENT AMIN ABDULLAH SAYING: "What happened was random shooting on innocents and residents and women and children. These are the acts of cowards." In recent months, the Houthis have advanced towards Aden, clashing almost daily with local resistance fighters allied with President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. Hadi, who was taking refuge there, has fled to Saudi Arabia. The fighting has killed or wounded thousands in the city. The United Nations has declared its highest level of humanitarian crisis for Yemen, placing it alongside countries like Syria and Iraq.
