''We know that Beau's spirit will live on in all of us...'' said Vice President Joe Biden in a statement released after his son, Beau Biden, died from cancer. Jillian Kitchener reports.
U.S. Vice President Joe Biden says his family is saddened beyond words. His son, Beau Biden, died Saturday after battling brain cancer at age 46. His family was with him when he died. The Vice President's office says Beau was diagnosed with brain cancer in August 2013 and underwent surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. After getting a "a clean bill of health" in November 2013, his cancer recurred this past spring. Beau was very close to his father and a familiar presence in his political campaigns. The Vice President is quoted as saying: "In the words of the Biden family: Beau Biden was, quite simply, the finest man any of us have ever known."
