Honda Motors announces new sports car S660. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
Japanese automaker Honda Motors Co Ltd showcased on Monday (March 30) its new sports car model S660, gathering a large crowd of fans at its headquarters in Tokyo. The new convertible sports car is offered in six different colours and in premium and basic types. The new model comes at a time when Honda and its counterpart Japanese auto manufacturers are in the middle of investigating deaths linked to Takata Corp's airbag malfunctions. Takata's air bag inflators can rupture with too much force, shooting metal shards into vehicles. Six deaths have been linked to the problem so far, all on Honda cars. Honda recently hired Exponent, a U.S.-based engineering consulting company enlisted by Toyota Motor Corp during its recall crisis in 2010, to investigate the cause of ruptures in some air bags made by Takata Corp. About 25 million vehicles with Takata air bags have been recalled worldwide since 2008.
