Thousands of people gather in Moscow for a march in memory of murdered Kremlin critic Boris Nemtsov. Vanessa Johnston reports.
A somber mood on the streets of Moscow... ...as thousands march in memory of opposition politician Boris Nemtsov. The former deputy prime minister was murdered just outside the Kremlin as he walked home from a restaurant Friday evening. (SOUNDBITE) (Russian) MOSCOW RESIDENT, VIKTORIA MAZUR, SAYING: "This incident has completely shocked me. It is such a tragedy, such horror. It has now become clear that in our country we have descended practically into fascism." Nemtsov had hoped to revive the opposition movement with a march on Sunday to protest against Russian President Vladimir Putin's economic policies... ...as well as Russia's alleged involvement in the separatist war in eastern Ukraine. Putin has vowed to pursue those who killed Nemtsov, calling the murder a "provocation".
