From the first cat cafe in the Balkans to the promise of animal rights in Lebanon -- animals in the headlines around the world. Vanessa Johnston reports.
A cat cafe in Slovenia -- the first of its kind in the Balkans. This does not mean you can take your favorite feline out for coffee --It's the cafe that provides the cats. And there are rules of engagement-- no tail pulling -- no flash photography and no waking of sleeping cats. -- In Serbia these geese were made for fighting. This is the 29th time the event has been held and organizers say it's all about determining the pecking order. For this man it's a dream come true as his gander wins the top spot. -- And in Lebanon a boost for animal rights as the country considers moving forward on an animal welfare protection law -- which would be the first of its kind in the country. The campaign, spearheaded by Animals Lebanon, would offer new protections for both working animals and house pets. Now it's up to Lebanon's parliament.
