Stars are expected to bedazzle the Oscars red carpet with large, heavy diamonds stealing the show. Gavino Garay reports.
They say diamonds are a girl's best friend. And at Sunday's Oscars, expect celebrities to strut their stuff in high end couture... and some loaded million dollar jewels, so says Tiffany & Co.'s Linda Buckley. You know, diamonds are so special and unique. Whether or not it's a white diamond or a yellow diamond, we're seeing a bit more in pink diamonds and colored diamonds. But that bit that you can really have an important diamond piece to really dress up, women always feel more beautiful when they're wearing diamonds. There's something of that sparkle and something of that glamour that just makes every woman feel more beautiful when she has diamond jewelry on." And Buckley says bigger is better when it comes to necklaces making for the perfect statement piece -- (SOUNDBITE) (English) VICE PRESIDENT OF PUBLIC RELATIONS FOR NORTHERN AMERICA AT TIFFANY & CO., LINDA BUCKLEY SAYING: "I think the bigger necklace is an important way to make a statement. They're very fashion forward. They're a way to make a style and add a pop of glamour to a dress. It's a very easy way to do it with one amazing piece. And it's a way that a woman can really convey her sense of style." Whether it's diamonds or big necklaces, the 87th annual Academy Awards is sure to be one bejeweled affair.
