Eastern Ukraine shows signs of shelling which would mean a violation the ceasefire between Ukrainian soldiers and pro-Russian separatists. Julie Noce reports.
Signs of continued fighting are evident in eastern Ukraine less than 24 hours after a ceasefire agreement was to have taken affect. Large holes, damaged buildings and shells could be seen in Popasna- about 50 kilometers north of stronghold Debaltseve where pro-Russian rebels have said they would not observe the truce. Residents here said it didn't take long for the ceasefire to be breached. Our President Poroshenko was delivering an address, this woman said, and 15 minutes later- look what happens! Both Ukrainian soldiers and pro-Russian rebels have blamed what firing there was on the enemy. More than 5,000 people have been killed in the conflict that has caused the worst crisis in relations between Russia and the West since the Cold War.
