ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Nigeria on Sunday (January 25), where he is expected to hold talks with president Goodluck Jonathan. Kerry landed in Lagos hours after suspected Boko Haram militants carried out attacks in the northeastern city of Maiduguri and Monguno town. The Sunni jihadist group has killed thousands during a five-year insurgency to carve out an Islamic state in the northeast of Africa's most populous country. Kerry is also scheduled to meet opposition candidate General Muhammadu Buhari. Nigeria is due to hold presidential election next month.
