Islamist gunmen killed 12 people at the office of satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, for cartoons mocking Prophet Mohammad. (SOUNDBITE) (Portuguese) DEMONSTRATOR, GUILLERMO, SAYING: "I'm here to defend the right of freedom of expression in France and to defend the French Republic, which has the great quality of defending the republic itself ahead of any individual agenda." Seventeen people, including police, were killed in three days of violence.
