Egypt's militant group, Sinai-based Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, posts a video on social media purporting to show attacks on Egyptian security forces. Nathan Frandino reports.
Destruction and celebration ensue in an unknown part of Egypt. New video posted on social media appears to show Egypt's most dangerous militant group, the Sinai-based Ansar Bayt al-Maqdis, carrying out attacks on government security forces. Reuters is unable to independently verify the video. The group this week pledged loyalty to Islamic State militants in Iraq and Syria while threatening more attacks against supporters of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, who says an Islamist insurgency in the Sinai could destabilize Egypt and threaten its neighbors.
