Aug.2 - The U.S. House of Representatives passes a Republican bill to end an Obama programme of suspending deportations of undocumented residents who were brought to the country as children. Sarah Toms reports.
Late on Friday night, the U.S. House of Representatives passed a Republican bill. The bill reverses President Barack Obama's policy, that allows for discretion in deporting undocumented workers who were brought to the country illegally when they were children. By a vote of 216-192, the House passed the bill that would also stop Obama from expanding his policy to other groups of undocumented immigrants. The Democratic-controlled Senate is not expected to consider the House bill.
