PLEASE NOTE: EDIT CONTAINS MATERIAL THAT WAS ORIGINALLY 4:3 Ukrainian police say they seized almost 50 kilogrammes of gold from apartments belonging to the country's former energy minister. Officials said a second safe contained nearly five million dollars in cash. The haul was found during a search of Eduard Stavytsky's home as part of an inquiry into corruption in Ukraine's energy sector. Stavytsky's described in Ukraine's media as a member of the inner circle of deposed president Viktor Yanukovich. On Friday the chief executive of state energy company Naftogaz was arrested as part of the same investigation. Yevhen Bakulin's said to be a close ally of the former deputy prime minister and was appointed under Yanukovich. Ukrainian police are investigating alleged corruption in the gas industry they believe may have cost the nation four billion dollars.
