Feb. 24 - Protesters and local media in Ukraine reveal high end luxury cars and lavish properties believed to belong to ousted President Viktor Yanukovich and his family. Nathan Frandino reports.
A luxurious discovery in Ukraine. Protesters have uncovered a dozen high-end luxury cars in a private warehouse in a suburb outside Kiev. The group suspects the cars may belong to the son of impeached President Viktor Yanukovich. (SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) RIGHT SECTOR COMMANDER OF KIEV REGION IGOR MAZUR SAYING: "We are going to have to figure out what these cars are and who they belong to and what we will do with them. We will have to look for people to help us determine all of that and I do not rule out the possibility that these are property of one of Yanukovich's sons." The total value is estimated at $2 million. This armoured Knight XV SUV is worth $500,000 alone. In Kiev, one protester took matters into his own hands when he saw this "International" 4x4 truck. Meanwhile, residents near the Crimean city of Sevestopol are angry about the ousted president's lavish property. The massive construction project is for a home overlooking the Black Sea. (SOUNDBITE) (Ukrainian) LOCAL WOMAN OLENA PROKHINA SAYING: "This shows a total disregard for nature, law and human beings; to build a five-story house that is three times bigger than the local youth hall." Ukrainians are rapidly discovering Yanukovich's outstanding wealth following his disappearance over the weekend.
