ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) President Barack Obama met with Haitian President Michel Martelly at the White House on Thursday for their first official sit-down meeting. Obama said the U.S. is committed to helping Haiti as the nation continues to rebuild after a massive earthquake devastated the country in 2010. "The American people are committed with standing with you through this process. We want to make sure all the children of Haiti can look forward to lives of opportunity and prosperity and security," Obama said. Obama also said he's encouraged by Haiti's progress on an election law to help promote political stability.
