He's the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter. On Thursday in Atlanta, Thirty-eight year-old Jason Carter announced plans to seek higher office. SOUNDBITE: Georgia lawmaker Jason Carter, the grandson of former President Jimmy Carter saying: "I am running for governor because I believe in Georgia at her best...The best has an economy that works for the middle class. Georgia at its best always has an honest government that works for everyone and not just political donors and well placed friends." He will challenge current Gov. Nathan Deal, a Republican. Jason Carter is currently a Georgia state lawmaker.
