Oct 23 - The day's top showbiz news and headlines including Prince George is christened, Michael Jackson is the top earning dead celebrity, and Katy Perry celebrates her new album. Bob Mezan reports.
It was a royal celebration in London as Britain's Prince George - son of William and Kate - was christened on Wednesday (October 23). The royal family was in attendance, however only 21 guests in all were invited to the ceremony - a sign of how much his parents intend to guard the privacy of the future king. Michael Jackson is the world's top earning dead celebrity - this according to Forbes magazine, who claims Jackson earned 160 million dollars over the last year. Much of Jackson's money comes from two Cirque du Soleil shows, his own music sales, and stakes in the Sony catalog. Katy Perry released her latest album "Prism" on Tuesday (October 23) with a performance in Burbank, California. The singer performed her latest single, "Unconditionally." The album represents a departure from Perry's previous candy-colored pop, with many songs being influenced by her divorce from Russell Brand and her on-again-off-again relationship with John Mayer. Finally, Warner Bros. celebrated its 90th birthday on Wednesday (October 23) with a ribbon-cutting at its headquarters in Burbank. The studio has developed some of Hollywood's most iconic films including "Casablanca," "All the President's Men," and the "Harry Potter" franchise.
