June 10 - Smartphone users spend nine hours and six minutes a month on social networks, according to a new report from Nielsen. Conway G. Gittens reports.
Your Daily Digit today is nine hours and six minutes. That's how much time smartphone users spend a month on social networks, according to a new report from Nielsen; just enough to regularly update a Facebook status, tweet, or share on Tumblr. And much more than a mere hour or so people spend watching videos or sports on their phones. Nielsen, an audience measurement company, surveyed users in March, and also concludes that Apple iPad owners give 3 hours and 41 minutes a month to social networks. And most log on in the evening, around 9 pm.
