April 18 - Former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf is holed up in his hosue after a high court ordered his arrest. Rough Cut (no reporter narration).
Dozens of police in riot gear blocked the road leading to the farm house of former Pakistani president Pervez Musharraf on Thursday (April 18) after he took refuge inside his house following an order to arrest him. Hours earlier, the Islamabad High Court ordered his arrest in connection with charges relating to his showdown with the judiciary in 2007 when he was still in power. Before he could be arrested, though, he was whisked away to his farm house in the suburbs of the capital city by security personnel escorting him. Police made no immediate move to enforce the arrest order as he left the court flanked by his personal bodyguards. Party members said Musharraf was consulting his legal aides and friends about what to do next.
