ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) STORY: Several hundred demonstrators gathered in central Paris on Saturday in a show of support for France's military intervention in Mali. The crowds were largely drawn from the French capital's Malian community and they waved banners and chanted slogans praising the French campaign and paying tribute to President Francois Hollande. The Malian government is locked in a battle for control of the north of the country against Islamist rebels with links to al Qaeda. The demonstrators said they rejected the fundamentalism of Mali's rebel groups.
