During an interview in Azerbaijan, the newly naturalized Depardieu told Russian media that political parties opposing Vladimir Putin offer no real alternative. He also touched on the controversy surrounding the decision to jail members of the punk band Pussy Riot for protesting against Putin in a Russian church. Depardieu, who's well liked in Russia, give up his French citizenship to become Russian to avoid a 75 percent tax rate on millionaires in France.
