Nov. 8 - Syrian rebels attack part of capital near presidential palace. Julie Noce reports.
Anti government rebels in Syria launched a massive attack on the presidential palace in Damascus. In this video from a social media website, that can't be verified by Reutes, rebel forces appear to be loading shell after shell into mortars intended for the palace. But they missed their intended target. Instead, they hit the nearby residential district Mezzeh 86... home to members of President Bashar al-Assad's inner circle. Homes were reduced to rubble... cars parked on the street were destroyed. Stepped up rebel attacks have become increasingly organized in the past weeks highlighting the deepening civil war between the Free Syria army and government forces.
