Oct 11 - Carl Icahn offers to buy Oshkosh Corp for $32.50/share, following a victory at truckmaker Navistar, last week. Reuters Correspondent Scott Malone takes a look at what's driving the moves.
Carl Icahn on Thursday said that he would be making -- thirty to fifty a share offer for a the roughly 90% of -- that he does not currently known. And this is his second run the company it's contingent on Oshkosh shareholders voting and it toward I can back directors. Back in January the company's annual meeting I capture -- -- -- rejected. -- a slate of directors but obviously he thinks he has another shot -- Interestingly today EI shares and Oshkosh -- 12% and those Navistar are also up. On and people are seeing that as a sign that icon who is also the number three shareholder in Navistar is considering a combination of the two companies. I he'd floated such an idea last year however some of the act as the analysts and investors that I speak to say they don't see a lot of industrial logic in time to India.
