sep 6 - Amazon unveiled larger, faster and aggressively-priced Kindle Fire tablets which will challenge Apple's dominant iPad, according to Jonathan Weber, Reuters West Coast Bureau Chief.
So the announcement today by Arab by Jeff Bezos and Amazon was very striking and and it represents fair real direct challenge to apple and Apple's dominance in the tablet market. Are the products they released today are aren't cheaper than the iPad with very similar performance and in the case -- there. On the higher end products and they've introduced a range of products at different price points. Which really give the consumer a lot of choices. If they're if they're trying to decide on you know different different. Prices and different form factors and so forth and so you know Amazon really has a different strategy and an apple arm. Amazon has Izzo said today they make money when people use the product not when people buy the product. That's kind of a dig at apple which has tremendous profit margins on its hardware. Amazon is basically saying we're willing to breakeven or even lose money on the hardware in order to get it into people's hands so they can use -- other services. So I think this is really very significant probably the first significant challenge to apple in -- tablet space.
