Guests being helped out of a wedding reception in northern Afghanistan after it was attacked by a suicide bomber. Twenty-three people including the father of the bride, Ahmad Khan Samangani are dead. The bomber blew himself up as offered a congratulatory hug to Samangani, a prominent anti-Taliban politician in the region. Police say at least 60 people are wounded. The Taliban, which has been behind a series of suicide attacks this year, denied responsibility. The group often distances itself from attacks with high civilian death tolls. Deborah Gembara, Reuters.
