July 1 - Hundreds of people demonstrate against Syria's government as others bury some 30 people allegedly killed in shelling by state forces. Andrew Raven reports.
Protests rage in Syria as international pressure increases on embattled president Bashar al-Assad. This video shows what activists say are demonstrations in the town of Talbiseh. Reuters could not independently verify the footage. The demonstrations come amid increasing violence in the war-ravaged country. This amateur video reportedly shows Damascus residents digging a mass grave. Activists say 30 people died on Saturday when government forces shelled a funeral in this suburb of the capital. The deaths come as several world powers demanded a transitional government be put in place to end violence now well over a year old. Andrew Raven, Reuters
