An American captured by al Qaeda in Pakistan pleads for his life.
Video shows Warren Weinstein who was captured last August telling President Barack Obama his life is in his hands.
On Monday White House spokesman Jay Carney called for his immediate release, while saying the U.S. will not negotiate with al Qaeda.
(SOUNDBITE) (English) WHITE HOUSE SPOKESMAN, JAY CARNEY, SAYING:
"We condemn his kidnapping in the strongest terms and call for his immediate release. The U.S. government will continue, making every effort to see Mr. Weinstein released safely to his family but we cannot and will not negotiate with Al Qaeda."
Al Qaeda has demanded the release of all those in U.S. detention for ties al-Qaeda or the Taliban.
