March 20 - Security is tightened across France as police search for a gunman who shot dead three children and a rabbi on Monday. Megan Detrie reports.
French police continue the hunt for a gunman who killed three children and a rabbi at a Jewish school in Toulouse. More than a hundred police officers were sent to the area as President Nicolas Sarkozy put the south west region on its highest terrorism alert. Guards are stationed at religious sites in Toulouse. In Paris, extra security has been placed around Jewish schools. For one teacher, it's reminiscent of post-9/11. (SOUNDBITE) (French) STEPHANE MOYSAN, TEACHER, SAYING: "We haven't had this kind of set-up since 9/11, that's to say a police force right next to our school. And that means right on the doorstep. Right at the door of our establishment we have police reinforcements that were ordered yesterday by the President of the Republic, Nicolas Sarkozy." The gunman is also a prime suspect in the killing of three soldiers in two similar incidents in the region last week. Megan Detrie, Reuters
