Feb. 14 - British fashion's finest joins Hollywood's Jessica Chastain, Christina Hendricks, and Cuba Gooding Jr. on red carpet for Elle Style Awards. Kathi Urban reports.
Britain's fashion's elite mingling with Hollywood's stars to celebrate a night of beauty, glamour and design at the Elle Style Awards. Amongst the guests - Academy-Award nominee Jessica Chastain of "The Help" and "Tree of Life", Christina Hendricks of "Mad Men" and James Bond girl Naomie Harris. Chastain has been on Best Supporting Actress lists throughout the awards season, but even if she doesn't win this time, she says she's hopeful about the future. SOUNDBITE: Jessica Chastain, actress, saying (English): "Right now, like at this moment in my life it's not incredibly important. It's more important to be in that room and to get to meet my idols and I hope to have a very long career. I hope to be working when I'm 70 so I don't want to look at it like this is my only chance to be there because I hope to have a career." Overall, the favourite subject on Monday night's (February 13) red carpet centred around the female attire. SOUNDBITE: Eddie Redmayne, British actor, saying (English): "Well I think boys care about women looking breathtaking so that's why I'm here tonight to see women looking breathtaking." SOUNDBITE: Gillian Anderson , actress, saying (English): "A new friend of mine has decided to take control of the situation and show me what it's really all about." SOUNDBITE: Christian Hendricks, actress, saying (English): "I think sometimes people tell me to wear things and I still wear it. I just wear things that I fall in love with and I think people have too many rules about what people should wear on the red carpet." SOUNDBITE: Reporter speaking to model asking (English): "Are you going to be able to wear this (dress) on a Friday night out, are you going to sneak it away from Jules (designer Julian MacDonald, who made the dress) SOUNDBITE: Welsh designer, Julian Macdonald, saying (English): "She won't be able to wear it on Friday night because she's wearing it on Monday night!
